Need a preschool theme for the letter U? Summer activities for your preschooler all planned out? What about unicorn theme games? Woo hoo! You've come to the right place! I've got a FUN unit for you!!
This 125+ pages, 5-days worth of activities is chock full pure fun! Based on unicorn picture books, there are oodles of developmentally appropriate activities for preschoolers. Older siblings would love to participate in some of the messier arts and crafts, fast-paced large motor skills activities, and even sit in for reading time for some unicorn books!
Unicorns are an appealing preschool theme for preschoolers because of the bright colors and fantasy element. Also, these printable worksheets (Unicorn Number Hunt, Letter Hunt, Count the Unicorns, etc.) can be used throughout the year, not just with this unit!
What is unique about this unit study that I provide 5 different lesson plans for you to choose from! You can choose from a 5-day lesson plan, 4-day lesson plan, 3-day lesson plan, 2-day lesson plan, and 1-day lesson plan. I have each number of days' plan all planned out for you depending on your schedule and how you want to use this unit.
Feeling creative? I have also included a blank lesson plan template for each of those number of days, if you want to plan your own!
You could do a whole week's worth of lessons. Or you could plan 2 days a week, or however your schedule allows this summer.
Picking and choosing your own activities is easy with the way I've written everything out. There are plenty (more than enough, actually) to have a whole day's worth of fun plus a good mixture of printables with other types of activities.
Each day of this preschool theme for summer will include the following types of activities:
- Circle Time, including Calendar and Word Wall printables
- Arts & Crafts
- Fine Motor Skills
- Gross Motor Skills
- Math Activities
- Letter Recognition
- Extra Activities (including sensory)
I've included a Geometric Rainbow Calendar classroom decor set with all the months of the year and numbers. This could be used for many different themes throughout the year!
There is a unicorn theme book list and unicorn song video list. No more hunting for the perfect book to use!
Some specific activities include:
Pin the Horn on the Unicorn (letter recognition activity)
Unicorn Ten Frames and Counters (math activity)
Unicorn Exercise Cards (gross motor skills)
Magical Unicorn Fizz recipe (fine motor skills)
Unicorn Sensory Bin (sensory activity)
Unicorn Pretzel Rod Horns (snack)
This is a great preschool theme for summer learning fun! You will have a blast with your preschoolers with this unit!
